Dennis Roberts has found great success in his art career. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Stained Glass Association of America where he is an active accredited professional member. He has also served as president of the Fredericksburg Alliance of Arts and Antiques. Finally, he has owned and operated IHS Studios, Inc. for nearly forty years. Although he always aspired to be a successful professional artist, he initially doubted his ability to make money in the field.

After his discharge from the US Marine Corps in 1969, he began working for Pan American World Airways. Unable to turn down another promotion that would move the family to New York, he decided to seek work designing and restoring stained glass. A close friend, Carl Kriegel, donated a stained glass window to their congregation and insisted Dennis design it. Carl insisted that Dennis needed to be designing ecclesiastical art glass full time.

Two kids in college did not him to immediately follow this calling, but he continued on the path by designing stained glass part-time. It wasn’t long before he became the art director for Texas Art Glass Inc. in Houston. After nearly a decade, Dennis founded his own studio, IHS Studios. Organized in 1982 as a sole proprietorship, and incorporated in August 1992 as a Texas corporation, the reputation of the studio continues to grow. What has never changed was his goal to treat employees as a family and use his talents, and theirs, to magnify and honor God through art.
